CAREER OPPORTUNITY - Chief Executive Officer, OHA

Founded in 1890 by the Honorable Arthur Stanley, the Ontario Hockey Association (OHA) is the original governing body of hockey and synonymous with hockey history in Canada. This high profile organization governs the majority of senior and junior hockey teams in Ontario: Allen Cup Hockey, Junior “A”, Junior “B”, and Junior “C” leagues. The OHA is a member of the Ontario Hockey Federation and Hockey Canada.

Building on the legacy of Brent Ladds, the OHA Board of Directors is in search of a new Chief Executive Officer to bring his or her strategic capability to the operations of the OHA and the development of a new tactical direction for the organization, through changes in governance and on-ice operations.  The CEO will be proactive in leading the initiative to vet and amend the OHA's current Constitution to meet current and future governance practices.  The CEO will also take the initiative to build harmonious and respectful relationships with his or her staff and with the organization's stakeholders, in order to meet the needs of its members.

The CEO will have proven strategic capabilities, excellent communication skills, a proven track record of building positive and enduring relationships and be adept in dispute resolution. The new CEO will be collaborative, a consensus builder, dedicated and knowledgeable in hockey operations. A degree or diploma in business/sport management/related fields or commensurate experience coupled with a minimum of five years management experience within the Hockey Canada structure is preferable.
