About the OHF Minor Hockey Branch Championships
The OHF Branch Championship is a coveted year end event that crowns ten (10) Branch Champions at the following age divisions: Atom A, AA, AAA, PeeWee A, A, Bantam A, AA, Midget A, AA and Juvenile.  The OHF Championships showcases high caliber players, well developed skills and a first-class event.  The OHF Championships are conducted annually on the weekend of the second Saturday in April.

The 2012 OHF Championships are set to take place on April 13 - 15, 2012.
The travel date is April 12, 2011 with the Championship Banquet taking place that evening.

Host Rotation Information
The OHF Championships are hosted by teams and/or minor hockey associations based upon the Member Partner designated to host the specific event.  All ten host centres are selected by their affiliated Member Partner and approved by the OHF Board of Directors.  To be selected to host an OHF Championship interested teams and/or minor hockey associations must submit a host bid package to their affiliated OHF Member Partner Office.  Specific hosting criteria is listed in the OHF Championship Guidelines below.

OHF Championship Hosting Guidelines
To assist the Host Centres with the event organization and execution, the OHF Championship Committee reviews and amends the Championship Hosting Guidelines on a regular basis.  At the completion of each Championship the Host Centre and each OHF Representative attending the Championships submits a final report from which recommendations are made. 

Contents include: responsibilities of Host Centres, OHF and participating teams; marketing and sponsorship; media and communications, volunteers, officials, schedule, banquet protocol and the rules and regulations of competition.

IMPORTANT HOST SELECTION CRITERIA
 
Consult with your affiliate Member Partner Office prior to submitting a bid as each Member Partner will set individual expectations and deadline dates. The selection of Host Centres will be the responsibility of the Host Division.  The following criteria may be used in determining the selection of Host Centres.

 •  Finances - estimated revenues and expenditures for the event;
 •  Facility - availability/capacity/quality;
        The rink in which games are to be played must be rented on an exclusive basis for a period of at least a minimum one hour prior to and after for the period of the Championship schedule.
        It is highly recommended that the facility must have at least five (5) dressing rooms available for the duration of the Championships or make available other secure overnight storage facilities. 
        It is highly recommended that the host hotel be able to accommodate at most five (5) teams and be within a close traveling distance to the host arena. 
•  Community/Association interest;
•  Ability to meet required timelines;
•  Volunteer base – availability;
•  Marketing/Public Relations/Protocol plans for the event; and,
•  Any special events to be held in conjunction with the hosting of this event (i.e. safety seminar, equipment presentations.)  These activities must be submitted for approval to the OHF.

The selection of a Host Centre by the OHF Member Partner must be completed and presented to the OHF Board of Directors by October 31 of the current hockey season.
