OHF Bursary Application
2012 OHF Bursary Program Application About the Program
The OHF Bursary Program was introduced in 1997 to recognize and reward dedication in education and hockey. The program provides financial assistance to registered OHF participants to offset the cost of post-secondary education. In the past 15 years, the OHF has distributed more than $240,000 to over 230 post secondary students.
Each year, the OHF awards bursaries to outstanding young people who display an incredible amount of commitment both at the arena and in the classroom. The bursary recipients are determined on the basis of academic achievements, hockey involvement and community involvement.

OHF Bursary Program Testimonials
“The OHF has given hockey players the opportunity to turn hard work and dedication to the hockey community into something that will benefit them in the next chapters of their lives. These communities consist of people from diverse backgrounds and walks of life who benefit in various degrees when players volunteer. The OHF recognises that every little bit helps when it comes to volunteering. Likewise, every little bit helps when it comes to financing university education. Thank you for your support.” – Laura Fraser, 2009 Bursary Recipient
“The OHF Bursary Program is a wonderful initiative that helps young individuals making the transition into university realize the importance of balancing education with community involvement. I am truly honoured to be a recipient. This bursary is signifigant to me because it will enable me to continue to pursue my goals with regards to my education. I hope as I get older, I can make this kind of contribution to the hockey community and influence some young hockey players/coaches/officials as the current hockey community has done for me.” – Jean Carlo Cedrone, 2009 Bursary Recipient
“The OHF Bursary Program is an awesome program that rewards post secondary students for their commitment to education and local hockey involvement. Success comes with hard work, dedication, commitment, and team work and the OHF Bursary program is a unique way to recognize recipients for their contributions to their hockey communities and education. Hockey is more than just a game, it has been an amazing experience that has developed my life skills and I look forward to many more years of hockey involvement. Once again thank you for your support!.” Jay Robertson, 2009 Bursary Recipient
“Hockey has played a great role in my life as I have played since I was 5 years old. It was a great honour to receive the OHF bursary because it rewards those who have dedicated themselves to the sport while also balancing school and volunteering in the community. It was nice to be recognized in this manner and was a fitting end to my minor hockey career.”Elliott Leifer, 2010 Bursary Recipient
“The OHF Bursary is a reward to students entering a post-secondary education and has given back to their hockey community. It also teaches the players that giving back to the community is beneficial in many ways. It allows young adults to give future generations incentive to keep supporting the hockey community in whatever ways they can because the OHF is willing to assist you because you assisted children with the game you love.” Jessica Perdue – 2011 Bursary Recipient
