2018 Hockey Canada Foundation Gala & Golf Coming to London

Date: May, 24, 2018 01:07 AM EDT

ONTARIO – The Hockey Canada Foundation is bringing their annual Gala & Golf event to London, Ontario for the first time in the event’s history.

Hosted on June 18-19 at the London Hunt & Country Club and Red Tail Golf Course this year’s gala dinner will celebrate Canada’s rich hockey history, celebrate the 2018 Order of Hockey in Canada honourees and any 2018 Olympic and world championship-winning teams. Honorary event co-chairs include Corey Perry and Mark Hunter.

The organization’s single largest annual fundraiser leaves 50 per cent of its net proceeds within the host community and surrounding region to help grow the game. Since 2009 approximately $4-million has been raised - $650,000 of that at the 2017 Hockey Canada Foundation Gala & Golf in Saskatoon last June.

The 2018 gala promises to pay special tribute to our Canadian traditions, our international hockey successes and our Order of Hockey in Canada honourees.

Mike Babcock, Danielle Goyette and Ryan Smyth are the 2018 Distinguished Honourees of the Order of Hockey in Canada – a Hockey Canada initiative that began in 2012 to celebrate individuals for their outstanding contributions or service to the growth and development of the sport of hockey in Canada.

A celebrity golf tournament will follow on June 19.
