Among the participants were teams from ALLIANCE, Ontario Minor Hockey Association, Northern Ontario Hockey Association, Greater Toronto Hockey League, Hockey Eastern Ontario and Hockey Northwestern Ontario.

In addition to Team GTHL Blue's Gold Cup win, Team OMHA Black took home bronze after defeating Team OMHA White, while Team HNO won Consolation Gold in a close game that went to a shootout against Team ALLIANCE and NOHA took home Consolation Bronze over Team HEO.

As part of the Hockey Canada Program of Excellence (POE), players competing at the OHL Gold Cup have an opportunity to be evaluated for invitation to the national under-17 development camp, where Hockey Canada gathers the top talent from across the country to introduce players to the national team program and provide a foundation of development as they progress through the POE.
