Zach's Flow for Cancer Fundraiser
Date: Jan, 31, 2019 12:00 PM EDT
Zach McDonald has once again grown out his ‘Flow’ to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society. With only days left before he is scheduled to make the cut on World Cancer Day, he is within reach of his fundraising goal of $10,000.
The Southern Tier Admirals Minor Midget AAA player has spent the season growing out his hockey flow to help make a wig for a child going through cancer treatment while raising donations to pledge towards cancer research. Having raised money and donating his hair twice before, in 2015 and 2017 – he has pledged a collective $7,000 in donations.
This cause is close to his heart: Zach’s grandma passed away due to cancer just three months before he was born. He has also had close friends and teammates who have lost their loved ones to cancer, and so he wanted to step up by both raising money for cancer research and donating his hair one more time.
His campaign will finish on February 4th, World Cancer Day, when his hair will be chopped and donated. Now only days left in his campaign, he is within reach of his fundraising goal of $10,000, with $8,816 pledged already.
