Date: Jul, 14, 2021 12:00 PM EDT
John McCutcheon started playing hockey as a child in Saskatchewan in outdoor rinks.
He stopped playing in his teens but stayed involved in the sport, later encouraging his own children to play. During their playing years, he served as a Convenor and then Head of girls house league hockey in Kitchener for around a decade.
He later became involved with Alliance Minor Hockey as a Secretary-Treasurer which he did for 10 years which saw him move forward into becoming the Secretary-Treasurer for the Ontario Hockey Federation.
Volunteering in hockey has always been a real joy for John, whether it’s at the minor or amateur level, he admires the efforts of volunteers and has cherished the relationships he’s made over the course of his time in hockey.
Congratulations to John McCutcheon for winning the President's Award.
The recipient is selected by the OHF President, and the award is presented to an individual who has made a valuable contribution and has provided service and leadership to amateur hockey throughout the Branch.
