Strategic Plan 2026 - 2029

The Ontario Hockey Federation’s 2026–2029 Strategic Plan is our blueprint for delivering hockey programming across Ontario.

Developed in collaboration with our seven Member Partners, the plan outlines the priorities that will guide our work over the next four years and help strengthen the game for every participant, family, team, Association and community we serve.

Stakeholder Support

Strong hockey communities depend on strong support systems.

We will continue providing Associations, teams, volunteers, administrators and families with the tools, resources and information they need to deliver safe, consistent and effective programming.

 

Policy/Organizational Alignment

The OHF works closely with its Member Partners to support a unified hockey system across Ontario.

Through continued collaboration, shared priorities and consistent decision-making, we will work together to strengthen the delivery of hockey programming across our jurisdiction.

 

Events

We will continue to deliver high-quality events that create lasting memories for players, families, officials, volunteers and host communities.

From development camps and educational opportunities to OHF Championships, our goal is to raise the standard each year and provide meaningful experiences that celebrate the game.

 

Growth & Retention

Participants drive everything we do. We will continue building on recent participation growth by creating more opportunities for players to enter, enjoy and stay in the game.

Through strong programming, clear pathways and continued collaboration with our Member Partners, we are focused on making hockey more accessible, welcoming and rewarding for participants across Ontario.

 

Business Development & Communication

Clear and consistent communication is essential to building trust and supporting the hockey community.

We will continue improving how information is shared with Members, Associations, participants and families so everyone can better understand programs, policies, timelines and opportunities across the OHF.

 

Culture of Hockey

Being more than hockey means creating an environment where every participant feels safe, respected and proud to be part of the game.

We will continue promoting positive behaviour, accountability, education and leadership across all levels of hockey to help build a stronger culture for players, parents, coaches, officials and administrators.

Our Progress

Each year, the OHF will identify key priorities, programs and initiatives that support the goals of the Strategic Plan. These annual priorities help guide where we invest time, resources and collaboration to better serve the hockey community.

The OHF will continue to monitor, evaluate and share updates on the work being done across each strategic pillar. Through stories, program updates, data and community impact, we will show how the plan is helping move the game forward.
