U13 A OHF Championships

Centered across North Perth, Minto, Mapleton, Howick, Central Perth, and Wellington North, this region is built on deep hockey roots, community pride, and unmatched small-town hospitality. Here, hockey isn’t just played — it’s lived.
This is Cyclone country, home to Fred “Cyclone” Taylor, one of hockey’s earliest superstars, and George “The Western Wizard” Hay, a Hockey Hall of Famer. That legacy carries forward through modern standouts like NHL forward Nick Spaling (Palmerston/Drayton) and NHL linesman Scott Cherrey, who grew up here before officiating at the highest level.
Generations have learned the game in local rinks, barns, and backyard ice surfaces — making hockey a shared language across our communities.
Our hockey culture doesn’t stop at the rink — it’s influenced storytelling far beyond it.
Listowel-born actor Jared Keeso drew inspiration from local rinks, characters, and small-town hockey humour when developing early sketches. That authentic voice helped shape the iconic “Shoresy” persona, later evolving into the award-winning series Letterkenny and Shoresy.
It’s proof that the hockey stories born here resonate far beyond our region.
At the heart of the tournament experience is the Steve Kerr Memorial Complex in Listowel — a bright, modern facility designed to welcome players, families, and fans from across Ontario.
What makes it special:
