U15 A Championships

Mt Brydges Minor Hockey

Welcome to Cougar Country: Small-Town Pride, Big-Time Hockey

Rooted in the tight-knit communities of Mount Brydges and Strathroy, Cougar Country is built on hard work, pride, and a deep respect for the game. Hockey here is more than a season — it’s a shared tradition passed down through families, local rinks, and generations of volunteers who believe in doing things the right way.

This championship arrives in a region where community support is unwavering, crowds are loud, and visiting teams are welcomed like part of the family — the perfect backdrop for Ontario’s top U15A talent.

Built to Compete: The U15A Mount Brydges Cougars

The U15A Mount Brydges Cougars enter the Championship as a battle-tested group with a proven winning pedigree. Fourteen players return from the Cougars’ 2024–25 OMHA Championship roster, bringing experience, chemistry, and confidence into April.

Recent success includes:

  • 🏆 U14A OMHA Champions (4-1-0)

  • 🏆 U14A Shamrock League Champions

  • 🏆 U14A/AA Huskies Classic Champions

  • 📊 40-13-15 overall record (2024–25)

This is a program built on development, accountability, and team-first hockey — exactly what an OHF Championship demands.

The Heart of the Tournament: Gemini Sportsplex

The Championship experience centers around the Gemini Sportsplex in Strathroy — a modern twin-pad facility designed to host high-level competition and large championship crowds.

What teams and families can expect:

  • Seating for 1,000 spectators

  • Dedicated officials’ dressing room

  • LiveBarn coverage

  • Multiple committee and meeting rooms

  • Fully accessible, gender-neutral change spaces

From puck drop to final buzzer, Gemini Sportsplex provides a professional, athlete-first environment worthy of an OHF title.

Championship Moments Beyond the Ice

The championship experience extends well beyond the rink. Teams and families will gather for a Championship Banquet at Caradoc Sands Golf Course, highlighted by a guest appearance from former NHL forward Brandon Prust, whose journey from the OHL to the NHL reflects the same grit and perseverance on display throughout the tournament.

Combined with strong local accommodations, short travel distances, and a welcoming host committee, the weekend is designed to be memorable for players, coaches, and families alike.

A Community Ready to Host

With over 600 players across 40+ teams, the Mount Brydges Cougars Minor Hockey Association brings proven hosting experience and a deep volunteer base to this Championship. From logistics and marketing to athlete care and community engagement, the host committee is committed to delivering an event that reflects OHF values of fairness, respect, and excellence.

The result is simple: a well-run, high-energy Championship where the focus stays where it belongs — on the players and the moments they’ll remember for a lifetime.
