U15 AA Championships

Vaughan is built for moments like this — a fast-growing, sport-first city where minor hockey is a true community hub. The City of Vaughan Hockey Association (home of the Vaughan Rangers) is entering its 35th year, and that milestone brings extra pride, extra buzz, and an “all-hands-in” volunteer culture that makes visiting teams feel welcomed from the first handshake to the final horn.
The Vaughan Rangers aren’t learning on the job — they’ve earned a reputation for running high-quality, well-organized events that teams return to year after year. Annually, they host three major tournaments that collectively bring in 80–90+ teams each event, plus they’ve successfully hosted multiple OHF Championships (including Midget A, Bantam AA, Atom A, and Atom AA). That experience shows up in the details: smooth schedules, strong game ops, and a weekend that feels professional without losing that community warmth.
The tournament is anchored at the Al Palladini Community Centre in Woodbridge — a gate-friendly, spectator-ready facility built to handle high traffic and high stakes. Expect:
-
1,000 total capacity (750 seated)
-
Five distinct dressing rooms plus officials’ room and medical room
-
Multiple meeting rooms (plus kitchen space) to support OHF operations
-
Close proximity to hotels, banquet venue, and major amenities
It’s the kind of rink that lets the hockey take center stage — while everything around it runs clean and on time.
Vaughan is designing a championship experience that goes beyond the game schedule. Two signature additions are planned to deepen community involvement and elevate the weekend atmosphere:
-
A Skills Showcase spotlighting the CVHA’s Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Learn to Play Program (which has introduced hundreds of kids to hockey)
-
A GTHL U15 AA All-Star Game concept to celebrate the wider age division and add a true “event” feel to Saturday night
It’s a championship weekend meant to feel bigger — not just for the finalists, but for the entire hockey community around them.
The Championship Banquet will be hosted at The Venetian, a premier Vaughan venue with a long track record alongside CVHA events. The plan is built for a great athlete-and-family experience: meet-and-greet, sit-down dinner, and a separate space for the Coaches/Managers meeting — all delivered with the kind of polished service that keeps the night running smoothly while still feeling special. Add in strong hotel options within minutes of the rink, and teams get a weekend that’s equal parts competitive, comfortable, and memorable.
