Date: Mar, 04, 2026 09:00 AM EDT

The Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) is proud to announce that the 2026 OHF Scholarship Program is now officially accepting applications as of Wednesday, March 4, 2026. Applications will remain open until Friday, May 8, 2026.

For nearly three decades, the OHF Scholarship Program has recognized and supported student-athletes, officials, coaches, and volunteers who demonstrate excellence both on and off the ice. Since its introduction in 1997, the program has awarded more than $485,000 to over 430 post-secondary students across Ontario.

The OHF Scholarship Program celebrates individuals who embody the values of hockey — commitment, discipline, leadership, and integrity — while also excelling academically and contributing meaningfully to their communities.

About the Program

The OHF Scholarship Program was created to recognize dedication in both education and hockey. The program provides financial assistance to registered OHF participants to help offset the cost of attending a Canadian post-secondary institution.

Scholarship recipients are selected based on:

  • Academic achievement

  • Hockey involvement

  • Community engagement

  • Personal reflection and leadership

The number of recipients and scholarship amounts are determined annually by the OHF Scholarship Committee.

  • Have been registered for three (3) of the last four (4) seasons with the OHF as a player, trainer, coach, or official

  • Be in good standing with the OHF

  • Be attending a Canadian post-secondary institution

All participants (players, coaches, and officials) within each OHF Member are eligible to apply.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit:

  • A personal essay (maximum 500 words)

    • Topic is open-ended and may focus on hockey experiences, overcoming adversity, leadership development, or how hockey has shaped personal growth, and more

Celebrating Excellence

The OHF continues to invest in leaders shaped by sport. In 2025 alone, dozens of outstanding young individuals were recognized for their dedication in the classroom and at the rink.

Among them, Dominic Da Silva (OMHA) was recognized as the 2025 Top Recipient and awarded the Jim Stirling Scholarship Award, donated by BFL Canada. Additional exceptional candidates received enhanced funding support through the generosity of Anmar Mechanical and Electrical Contractors Ltd.

Through partnerships and community support, the OHF remains committed to investing in the future of hockey and education across Ontario.

Important Dates

  • Applications Open: March 2, 2026

  • Application Deadline: May 8, 2026

The Ontario Hockey Federation looks forward to recognizing another class of student-leaders in 2026 — individuals who continue to build beyond the game.
