MEDIA RELEASE: 120 Prospects Named to Ontario Summer Games Rosters

Hockey Eastern Ontario, Hockey Northwestern Ontario and the Ontario Hockey Federation are pleased to announce the 120 under-15 aged (2011 born) players selected to attend the Ontario Summer Games July 29 – August 2, 2026 in Waterloo, ON.

Athletes from all three Ontario Hockey branches were evaluated throughout the 2025-2026 season, including at league games, major tournaments, the All-Ontario U15 AAA Championships and the HEO, HNO and OHF Program of Excellence events.

The 120 players will be divided into six teams and will compete in a tournament style championship at Ontario Summer Games. Coaching the teams will be individuals from all three Ontario Hockey branches. The Ontario Summer Games will serve as the first evaluation camp for the top 120 players in the province vying for a spot on Team Ontario at the 2027 Canada Winter Games in Quebec City, QC.

Held every four years, the Canada Winter Games showcases the top under-16 hockey talent in the country that sees one province or territory emerge as the best in the Nation. The 2027 Canada Winter Games will take place February 27 – March 12, 2027 in Quebec City and is the largest multi-sport and cultural event for youth in Canada.

Team Ontario will see Jeff Robert will serve as the Director of Operations with Steve Devine leading the team as Head Coach. Wes Wolfe and Dan Fitzgerald will serve as Associate Coaches,Caitlin McMann as an Assistant Coach, with Goalie Coach Kari Rikkonen, and Equipment manager Chuck Dufton. Team Ontario will be entering the Canada Winter Games as the defending Men’s Hockey gold medalists four years ago in PEI.
