What is the cost to participate in a U15 Program of Excellence Camp in 2024?

The cost is $300 (+HST). Participants will also be responsible for their own accommodations and transportation to and from the program.  All sessions are open to parents and families and they are encouraged to attend.

When are applications due for the U15 Program of Excellence?

The application portal will close on Friday, March 15, 2024. Acceptance is not based on first come, first served but it is a popular program and there are a lot of applications being submitted. You don't want to forget to apply! 

Does participating in this program have any effect on a player’s status for the U16 OHL Gold Cup, Canada Winter Games or U17 Program of Excellence?

The OHF/OHL U15 Program of Excellence has no bearing on registration, application, or consideration for Canada Winter Games, U16 OHL Gold Cup or U17 Program of Excellence. The purpose of the U15 program is not to stream/select players or identify talent. Similarly, players will not be excluded from consideration for the U16 OHL Gold Cup or the U17 Program of Excellence solely because that they did not participate in the U15 program. 

How does the selection process work?

All applications that are received will be reviewed. Selection is not granted on a first come, first serve basis. Players that are currently playing at the AAA level will be given priority. All eligible applicants that meet the program criteria are grouped together and the successful applicants are randomly selected. Often times there are more qualified applicants than spots available and thus there is not a spot available for everyone. Those that are not granted a spot initially will be placed on the waiting list in the event that a spot becomes available prior to the start of the camp.

Will participating in this Program affect my NCAA Eligibility?

No – participating in this program does not affect a player’s eligibility to play in the NCAA since it is a user-pay program.

Will only those who have been accepted be contacted or will all applicants be contacted?

All applicants will be notified via email whether or not they have been accepted into the program. If they were not accepted initially, they will be placed on the wait list and will be notified if a spot becomes available.

How many players are on a team?

21 players:

• 12 forwards
• 6 defense
• 3 goaltenders

Who is the team staff?

Each team will be coached by OHF Team Personnel and will have a Trainer.
