Barrie, ON - The stars were shining at the ETA Midget All-Star game today at the Holly Community Centre in Barrie during the OMHA AAA Showcase. With over 400 fans in the stands, the players did not disappoint with an entertaining skills competition to start followed by the All-Star Game.

Whitby’s Matt Simsons was crowned the fastest skater at the OMHA AAA Showcase in Barrie December this weekend with a time of 14.66 seconds. Matt, was among the 40 players named to the Midget AAA All-Star East and West teams who started the weekend with a skills competition followed by a game.

Dodge Caravan Kids Program registration has now closed for the 2011-2012 season. All teams are now required to submit their photograph and registration information to their local Hockey Branch.

CALGARY, Alta. – For the ninth year, goalie masks designed by young Canadians will be front and centre at the IIHF World Junior Championship thanks to the Bauer Design-A-Mask contest. Two winners will be chosen, one in the 12-and-under category and one in the 13-to-18 category.

FORTY-NINE PLAYERS TO ATTEND NATIONAL WOMEN’S
CALGARY, Alta. – Hockey Canada announced Friday the 49 players that will attend the National Women’s Under-18 Team conditioning camp, scheduled for May 25-29 at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ont. The camp will serve to introduce the athletes to the expectations that Team Canada has in areas such as training and testing, nutrition, physical and mental fitness and other general every-day behaviour.
